IC-NOCMAT 2007

Giving continuation to the series of events organized by ABMTENC, and IC-NOCMAT the eighth Conference on Non-Conventional Materials and Technologies will take place in 2007 in Maceió, Alagoas. This event is organized in Honor of Prof. R.N. Swamy who has indeed contributed to the development and dissemination of the knowledge on Non-Conventional Materials and Technologies immensely since the year eighties of the twentieth century. It is hoped that many renowned professors, scientists, researchers, builders and industrialist with a vast experience in the development and application of related topics of the event will participate. The public will be diversified, because of the multidisciplinary nature of the subjects, which are of interest to professionals, students and others active in the field of architecture, engineering, materials, sustainable and ecological technologies, biomaterials, materials sciences, environmental engineering. These topics are also of interest to specialists in geography, economists and administrators of natural resources. In addition to the participants from the academic environment, there will be present entrepreneurs, representative companies from the sector of civil construction interested in non-conventional materials and technologies. It is hoped that the representatives of entities of normalization, governmental or non-governmental organizations, promoting research and development also would participate actively. The present conference has as objective to create opportunities for a more profound examination of the use of non-conventional materials and technologies in the eco and sustainable constructions and, as well to stimulate possible projects of cooperation among the participants and their institutions.
