S\u00e3o investigados fen\u00f4menos de rea\u00e7\u00e3o e suas vari\u00e1veis operacionais, buscando melhorias em rendimento, seletividade, seguran\u00e7a e sustentabilidade dos processos.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Os estudos envolvem desde rea\u00e7\u00f5es homog\u00eaneas e heterog\u00eaneas em fase gasosa ou l\u00edquida, at\u00e9 processos biotecnol\u00f3gicos aplicados \u00e0 produ\u00e7\u00e3o de f\u00e1rmacos, alimentos, combust\u00edveis, insumos qu\u00edmicos e materiais de interesse industrial. A atua\u00e7\u00e3o inclui tamb\u00e9m o desenvolvimento e a caracteriza\u00e7\u00e3o de catalisadores e biocatalisadores, visando maior efici\u00eancia em processos reacionais complexos.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Al\u00e9m dos aspectos experimentais, h\u00e1 \u00eanfase na <b>modelagem fenomenol\u00f3gica e emp\u00edrica<\/b>, simula\u00e7\u00e3o din\u00e2mica e em regime permanente, an\u00e1lise cin\u00e9tica, controle de processos e integra\u00e7\u00e3o energ\u00e9tica.
